This high end dealer is really impressed with this Sire.
Maybe it does have a right to sound that good. It's a Sire for $2099. Just checked Lobster's review where it also got a lotta love. On the plus side it includes a hard case.
A lot of "high end" basses don't come with hard cases anymore. This exact bass would probably be $3K if made in a US factory. It is a higher end factory bass, period.

With the Aero pickups and that tone circuit (or clones of those), that's by far the quickest way to get there from here, tone-wise.
Of course that's a lot of bass geetar, but I'm amazed how quickly their prices went upmarket for an ostensibly 'inexpensive' line of instruments, and once in this price range, there are lots of choices.

You can only do budget FSO so many ways before the market goes "so what." Expanding the range of instruments was inevitable.
Much better headstock design. Could still use a little refinement, but worthy progress.
Nice bass. I don't like singlecuts though. He didn't describe the neck. The Sire 5 string I had, had a chunky neck and was also a tad bit heavier than I prefer and that's why I sold it.
I've never been crazy about the aesthetics of a single cut, but I'm about to receive my fourth Ibanez cerro. There is an aspect of these single cut neck through instruments that makes them superior, especially for five string. The additional contact with the body wings makes the neck like granite. Far more solid, far less flexible than a double cut instrument. Also, the additional securing to the upper body wing allows the neck to be very thin front to back. Extremely flat. This can be very nice with a five string, especially one with standard 19 mm spacing. The FX 10 looks to have smaller string spacing than the Cerro. But the real kicker is, these five strings coming in at around 8 pounds flat. That is extremely rare for a five string. But with the FX 10 coming in at 10 pounds and above, I cannot hold that instrument for 2 90 minute sets.
Single cuts are not for me . Same goes for 35 scale. But I don't see why these shouldn't do well for those that like these features.
Awww, man. This thing caught my interest until you mentioned it was 35" scale. There's so many basses I might have owned if not for that scale length on 5 strings (looking at you, Spector).
I got this three days ago the 2026 V7 Vintage ash. The neck is very small, and the frets are vintage smaller too. Add the rolled adges and man-o-man, this neck is a peach. The pre provides all I require sonically…….reliability/longevity is yet to be determined.
I'm not a fan of single cut basses, 35 inch scale, or 5 strings.
However, I am a fan of Sire as a brand. My P5 fretless is much better than any authentic Fender than I have ever played. It cost me just $350, but it plays like a bass that costs $2,000. I would consider getting a 4 or a 6 string Sire if I wanted another bass.

The 4 string necks are fine. The 5 string necks are chunky. Def not for me after playing Laklands for over 15 years. 7ender 5 string necks are the same. Just too chunky for my taste.
