Double Bass Fretboard care on my NS Design EUB.

Do I need to clean the fretboard or treat it with anything?

Depends on the model you have. Most have Richlite fingerboards, which are synthetic composite -- oiling that will only result in a greasy fingerboard. Some WAV models have rosewood, in which case treatment will depend on the finish it has. You should contact NS Design and ask.

Thanks. It is obviously some kind of phenolic or composite material. It does get a little dirt build up on the board but that's about it.

A soft dry rag should get rid of dirt easily.

I recently asked Bob Gollihur about this same thing after I got some blood on my bass. He recommended a damp cloth on the richlite fingerboard.
