Fretboard repairs

A while ago i bought one of those lawsuit rick copies just for the fun of owning it and was a bit disappointed by it.

It seems the previous owner didn't understand how the truss rods worked and the fretboard is a bit separated around fret 1-2. Because of this, i need ungodly high action to play without a nasty buzz.

So, the question is, how difficult/costly would it be to repair this bass? I'd love to have it working as it puts out a wonderful growly tone with flats.

Are you asking what a professional Luthier would charge or the cost to do it yourself?

Either or, I suppose. If it's not too difficult of a job, I'd do it but if not, how much do you think it should cost?

My guess would be $200 = $300

Oh man. That's mare than half of what I payed for this bass! But I guess it would be worth it in the end.
