Fretless P-basses...?

I love fretless P-Basses.
I prefer them to Jazz Basses. (That big, deep thump)
My second bass was a 1971 fretless P-bass.
They were introduced as a production bass in 1970.
I've seen earlier ones a 1962, 1966, 1968.
There was no custom shop back then, but a dealer could order a P-Bass
with a fretless fingerboard sometimes. (It was rare)
The Tony franklin Bass is nice.
But Fender should reissue the 1970 style fretless P-Bass?

I have an odd duck frettless P. E3 serial number 84 neck date stamp, trussrod at the heal and vaneer board. 70s tuners, 80s bridge and 80s black bottom pickups. I think this may be one of the last guitars out of the fullerton factory before CBS sold out. Just throwing old parts together and sending them out the door.
