Fretless resurrection

I had pretty much written off my Ibanez Roadstar after yanking the frets out because it did not sound that great on it's own.

But, I was recording a scratch demo the other day and decided to pull it out and use it for the bass track (first time since it became fretless 3-4 years ago). I actually got it to sound pretty decent, especially after mixed with the other instruments.

I guess I'll have to get it out of the case more often now. I found a new toy that I already owned!

funny the way it works.
I haven't played my Stingray 4 in a while, since I got the fretless 6 banger. Pulled it out the other day and haven't stopped jammin' it...

Sometimes with a fretless you can get some great unexpected tones, especially if you are prepared to live with a slightly higher action.
