Funny timing on the bump, i was just about to dig this thread up for today to post some new findings.
After looking at the bass more closely..
The fretjob is good, although not the BEST ive seen. I have seen many basses, though. The frets could have been polished/angled a little smoother, in my opinion. Also, the ends of the frets in some case arent 100% into the fingerboard, there are tiny gaps, which may or may not affect playability. Still is better than most production basses though. Only exceptions i can think of are Musicman basses which have amazing fretjobs that i am very fond of, and perhaps the higher end Lakland stuff, and then of course all of those near-boutique brands like Zon, Pedulla, etc, those are all very good too of course.
The finish on the back of the neck feels great for the most part, but one area seems to feel a little courser than everywhere else. Not sure if this is due to a lack of sanding in that area or what. Most people would not notice, probably 98%. Very miniscule.
The neck pocket is very tight, no problem there.
This bass is rock solid. Everything about it is sturdy. It is hefty, yes, with its (IMO) chunky neck and mahogany body, so if weight is an issue for you, this bass isnt for you.
