From Question thread to NBD : I bought the Sadowsky Verdine White P/J

Mesa Boogie, Tech 21, Taylor
EDIT - NBD pics and impressions later in the thread.

Been looking around a little for a P/J. The main ones on my radar are the Fender Precision Elites, but I think these Verdine Whites look super cool and the main reason I never got a Sadowksy was I have not ever really wanted a Super Jazz style bass, butI have always liked the brand a lot. Curious how it sounds in comparison to the Elite, and if it has a quality passive mode like the Fender does.

I have seen the video of Verdine White playing it, but that’s about all I can track down so far.

Sorry, I should have been more clear on my previous post

I have a Satin Deluxe JJ, not the Verdine White.

The Verdine White is part of the Satin Series and the Satin’s are wonderful basses
NYC quality as a much more manageable price point for me

Can’t say how the Satin’s sound passive... the Sadowsky preamp with the VTC is so good I’ve not yet had the need to go passive

Sorry I couldn’t be of more help

Yeah, if it is going to be your main player then maybe that’s ok, but just to try and see - that’s too rich for my blood.

Don’t think they will pop up in the classifieds anywhere soon though.

I can go for it but would need to sell two others basses.
I bought both new, so I will take a big loss when selling.

Decisions

Would like to read/watch some reviews first.

Well there are some Metro Sadowskys out there in the wild too. I saw one on Bass San Diego.

I just ordered one. It should sound like the HPJ, which sounds killer. I will review once I get it and spend time with it. Fully expecting it to be my main player.

Ocean blue. It was instant love and I basically had to have it.

I guess you beat me to it :-) fantastic!

Orange would rule. I love that red too. The 6 month wait would be tough on me.

The satin series is the best upper end boutique pricing I have seen. To me, they look amazing, and you are getting a NYC Sadowsky with hipshot tuners for under $3k. I believe the bass I ordered weighs just over 7 pounds. That’s incredible.
