I'm sure this has been covered before but I don't have time to search for it. Bought from AMS or the Other One a jazz bass pickup cover, for the reasons it was meant for: to rest your hand on, not the "vibe" or the "vintage look". It's easier to play with a pick in front of the neck pickup w/ that on there. Yeah, I know I can BUY the scratchplate with the holes pre-drilled (if it would actually fit! Ha!)
but what about the spacer/gasket to raise the thing up so it won't choke the strings? Here's the review I sent to AMS or MFriend or whoever I overpaid for this:
I don't like to complain but what a joke. They don't include the gasket/spacers or mounting screws! Got some Fender scratchplate screws at the local shop, says that's what they probably use. I've got one of those very expensive American load-from-the-back Jazz basses w/ the out- of- phase front push button. If I were to try to install the thing w/out the above mentioned parts, it would completely choke the strings! How frustrating and disappointing. Could've got this cheaper at amazon. Fender have been weird for 25 years. They make too many of the same instruments w/ slight variations. Appalling. So here I go to one of the bass forums! They should have included a template, as well. I ought to send it back...Made in USA "Genuine Fender Replacement Parts" indeed. Pfuey! But, "stuff" happens. Regards. Have a great day.
