Up for sale is my very minty 1967 Ampeg B-15N amp. I am not the original owner, but it has never left my house, or been gigged. I would give a B+ to A- rating cosmetically; it has some scrapes and scratches, and little areas where the tolex is missing, but nothing ugly. It has been to my local tech and is in good working order for a 43 year old amp. It is the single baffle B-15. Before we get into the details, this has to be a local sale. I live in Toledo, Ohio, so if you are in the Cleveland, Detroit, Cincinnati, area, I am willing to drive half way to meet you for delivery. I am not willing to ship this amp. However, if you can arrange to have it packed and shipped by the local UPS store, or some other facility, I am willing to drop it off there, but that's where my responsibility ends. You are, of course, welcome to pick it up at my house.
The amp is pretty much original. The AC cord has been replaced with a modern 3 prong type so you won't get shocked. The 15 is the original Ampeg speaker which has been reconed with an original kit. The two power tubes have been replaced with RCA 6l6's, but all the other tubes are original. The main capacitor has been replaced with a new one from Fliptops, along with a couple of shockmounts. Other than that, it is all original ( as far as I can tell ), including the caster board , but I am in no way an expert on vintage amps. Everything is working as it should, no issues that I am aware of. This would be a perfect addition to any studio. I have never gigged with it, so I can't say how it does on the gig. I will also include a patch cord ( from Fliptops ) that allows you to use the head with another cab, or use the cab with another head. I am posting a photo and I will of course provide more pics on request. Pm me with any questions or requests for photos. I've got a cheap digital camera, but I'll do my best. I am not a tech guy by any means and I am not willing to tear apart the amp to get a closeup of a small part.
Price is $1100, and it will have to be a money order, bank check, or cash. I will take a personal check, but it must clear before you take delivery. No PayPal, please. Before you ask about trades, the only thing I am interested in would be a fairly new ( 1-2 years ) Mesa Walkabout Scout 12, plus cash depending on age and condition. I hate to let it go, but times are tough.
