Details

I'm listing this locally as well, but thought I'd put this up here too. Obviously hoping for a local sale, because shipping this will be pretty expensive.

Complete Ashdown Bass Rig: Ashdown MAG 300 & 210 & 115 Cabinets.

Included in sale:
+ Ashdown MAG 300 bass amplifier, rated at 300 RMS, 500 peak watts. (Ashdown Engineering | Bass Amplification)
+ Ashdown MAG 210 Deep Cabinet (Ashdown Engineering | Bass Amplification)
+ Ashdown MAG 115 Deep Cabinet (Ashdown Engineering | Bass Amplification)
+ Rack Case
+ 2 Speakon Cables
+ AC Power Cable

This rig is in near-mint condition. It has been gigged about once a year. Comes from a smoke-free home. There are a few very minor scuffs in the back of the carpet cover. Otherwise, no issues.

I am always complemented on the sound of this rig when we play out. It has a deep, warm, bar-filling tone that can go from hard slap tone to old school vintage vibe with a few EQ tweaks. Especially nice is the "sub-harmonic" blender that adds a fundamental tone one octave below the one you are playing. You can go from subtle to doubled with just a twist of the knob.

I will eventually consider splitting these up, but for now, I'd like to allow couple of weeks to sell the whole set - it all sounds nice together and goes together.

Talkbass price for the whole shebang:
  • Local Pickup: $650.00 (Local is 60201, willing to drive an hour in any direction, and I'm in lower Wisc frequently)
  • Shipped CONUS: $800.00

Bump for a sweet rig!

I used to have the MAG300 and it is one warm sounding amp that hits way above its 300 watt rating. I still have the MAG115 cab and I love it. I can imagine that adding the 210 in there to carry the high-mids and treble must make for a phenomenal sounding setup.

Yeah, I've been quite happy with it. It was actually the first rig that made me feel that bi-amping wasn't always necessary. The balance between the 210 and 115 is right on the money. I had run this with extended string basses and with a fairly loud 2 or 3 guitar band and it totally held its own.

I still miss the sub harmonic thickener - something my current rig lacks. I tended to use it not so much as an effect but as a subtle "thickener". People didn't necessarily hear it, but they noticed it.

I'd better stop now, or I am going to decide to keep it. I am really trying to force myself to pare down to 1 rig with multiple cabs that I can use in various configs

Looks like I've got people interested in each individual piece, so I am now willing to split it up.

I've sent PM's, or replied to previously sent PM's.

Anyway, here's an update for the thread:

The entire rig is still available.

The two people who expressed interest in the head had both bought other amps by the time I contacted them.

I've had a few other PM's regarding each cabinet, but nobody is seriously pursuing a sale at this time.
