Im making way for a new Dingwall bass and want to create some closet space
Up for sale (no trades)

For Sale:
2004 Dingwall Z2 4-string bass
3 tone burst finish –incredible “dipped in glass poly” coating
Black headstock- Hipshot extender on the “E” string
Dual Density swamp ash body
Highly resonant 3-piece maple neck w/ Morado fingerboard
Bartolini p’ups w/ 18vt active pre. (lots of tone shaping controls)

This is big time players bass. Super fast neck size and shape, with the thunderous Dingwall scale. A 36.26” E string which readily drops to “D” and sounds huge. This bass has a ton of sustain and tone for days. The Bartolini were specially wound for Dingwall and have a mid focus’d darkish sound. Playing w/ both pickups in series over the bridge provides a barky articulate tone. One can easily replace these pickups for current Dingwall FDs
In full disclosure, when this bass was shipped to me, a battery got loose which resulted in a 2” crack of the top wood. I’ve shown the images to Sheldon who stated that this will not impact the sound, playability or tone of the bass as its superficial. I had a local luthier seal the crack, but it’s still noticeable. You can see it on the front body image (image2 over bridge). I can provide up close images as well.

Asking $2000 or BO which includes S/H (w/ insurance) in the US. (paypal preferred)

Free bump for an awesome bass and great TBer/Dingwallian.

I am bumping this bass even though it is against my own interest to do, as I am trying to raise the funds to re-acquire this beauty.

As Sheldon has said more than once, his 4 string basses are really underrated. Everyone thinks that slanty frets are only good for low B's, but I can tell you that it works just as awesome for low E's as well! The E on this bass is truly awesome.

And for anyone who has never played a Z series Dingwall, they are truly a cut above even the ever-awesome Afterburners and Super P's and J's! When you pick up a Z, it just feels so right in the hands. The neck truly plays itself.

And finally, the finish on this bass is like a finely waxed and buffed sports car.

And all this for the price of a used ABI!!!!!

So heads-up. I am working hard to get the $$ together!:D;)

folks have been asking to see the crack in the bass

as i mentioned its not a scratch, its a crack
the crack was sealed up professionally, but they didnt do anything w/ the poly coating or paint, so its obvious
