NEW PRICE - $500 shipped in CONUS.

I am in the process of gathering funds for an upright bass and I need to clear out some equipment.

Here, I am an selling an early Ashdown Klystrom ABM-400 bass amplifier head. This is a difficult sale for me. It is around 10 years old and has been with me on many gigs. I have never had one ounce of trouble with her. It has always been kept in a heavy duty road case (included) and besides some rust on some screws, she is in great shape. Although it is a 400, the amp is rated for more than 500 watts at 4 ohms. A few years after I brought this, they changed the name to a 500. This is a great sounding and reliable amp head. I am the original owner.

I am asking $500 shippped in CONUS.

This item is for sale only and I will ship only in the CONUS. Payment by US Postal money order.

I have additional feedback on ebay as bass_1234.

    Thanks for looking.

Other items I am selling are:
Two Euphonic Audio NL-210 speaker cabinets - SOLD
    ’93 Stingray - $850
’87 Fender Jazz Bass Special – Fretless $500

Does it sound anything like a Trace Elliot?

    Hi Jim,

I have never had experience with Trace Elliot, but I would describe the amp as sounding right in between a solid state amp and a tube amp. Very warm/big sounding. You can get a nice gring if you crank the input, or a nice clean tone if you keep the input low. The controlls are very useful, and the sub harmonic (octave) tracks very well. Very quick and loud at 4 ohms.

I have used this amp successfully with Bergantino, SWR, EA and BagEnd cabinets.

The deal with my wife is that I have to sell some equipment to pay for at least half the cost of the upright bass that I want. Othewise, I would never sell this amp.

    Thanks for asking.
    Eric
