I previously had this listed in a thread with another bass for trade but have since decided to see how it fairs alone and with a sale option as well. I would seriously consider trades that are ONLY five strings. A cash price of $575 shipped in a HSC is also offered on the bass.

I purchased this beautiful jazz from TBer bassdude51 in January. As per bassdude51's description, this is:

a vintage white Fender MIJ body with Fender CS 60s pickups, all Fender MIA vintage hardware.

Neck is a MIJ Allparts bass neck with 1 5/8' nut, exactly half way in between a J and a P. Gotoh vintage reverse tuners that lay flush onto the back side of the headstock (unlike the AVRI tuners that are bulged). An aftermarket decal.

If looks could kill, then this bass kills! Totally mint! Around 9.5 lbs on the analog baby scales (could be + or -). The CS pickups sound great. .050 and .030 orange drop caps for the 2 tone controls, Fender specs.
---

I took a step in the dark on this bass based on looks and specs and have NEVER been disappointed. Extremely comfortable neck and tone for days. I might be leaving my current project for one which would benefit from that low B I currently lack, hence my attempt to sell this four stringer. Hopefully it will find a loving new home - please feel free to message me with questions or offers. Cheers.

So, I pulled the bass out of my closet to give it an inspection and found three dings that I hadn't previously noticed - they are pretty small, I had some trouble taking pictures of them, but they are there. I had a really tough time taking photographs of these... the first two show a small ding right below the reflection of my lamp and the third shows a little ding which appears deeper in the image than it actually is. There is also a scuff, a thin mark about a half inch long, which I couldn't get to show up in a photograph.

In light of those cosmetic damages I'll bump a little off the price: the total is now $575 shipped in a HSC.

Nice, that's an all parts neck with a fender sticker? I have a all mij just like it but fretless I don't know how much to ask for it. How did you figure what it was worth? Is there a free blue book web site or something ?

Yes, it has a Fender decal attached. The price is set through cost of components - neck, body and electronics all play a factor, followed by cosmetic condition... it can be a strange scale, small damage seems to be considered bad but after a certain point it becomes mojo and considered cool.

This particular neck is extremely comfortable. Almost better than my '89 MIJ P neck but juust not quite.

I can't seem to find a record of the exact wood - it is either alder or basswood... I'm sorry, I'll keep looking through my files. The bass comes in right around 9.5 lbs on the scale. To me it is a great weight and balances very well.
