Bump for a killer deal and an A+++ TB'er. I really like the contrast between the walnut top and the mahogany body! I suspect that the maple finger board and walnut top really add some snap & definition to the tone of this bass. I thought that I'd seen the last of the Roscoe's for sale below $2K.........Great price on a nice Roscoe in tough economic times!
Thanks guys! I've had 4 Roscoes in my history - the best ones stand out in my mind, and THIS is one of them! You're right Joe - the maple/walnut mixed with the mahogany body make a very articulate even-sounding instrument. And many of you may know what I'm talking about here >>> I have a love/hate relationship with maple fingerboards. I love the tone, but it's SO hard to find one with no deadspots! THIS bass has no deadspots...and no fret buzz!
This is a great chance to pickup a Fantastic bass for half the cost of a new one! If you have never seen a Roscoe in person, pictures will never do the bass any justice. So if the pictures look nice, wait until you get the bass to your house!
What amazing Roscoe ! Walnut and mapple is really beautiful ! Do you know what is the wood between Mahogany and Walnut ?
On bass it doesn't look like a different wood, it appears Keith used tape to stripe a line in the mahogany before the mahogany was stained to give it the appearance of another layer of wood.
I'm not 100% sure but from top to bottom it looks like: walnut/maple pin stripe/flame maple/black mahogany body Very classy in person because the neck also has flame in the maple.
D/FW needs the rain. There is a cat looking for a used Roscoe in the Roscoe Forum, and I've told him about your 3005. If I had the $ I'd snag it. BTW what part of the metroplex are you in? I grew up in Oak Cliff, East Dallas and Arlington areas. God Bless, Ray
John, what a stellar Roscoe! I miss my mahogany bodied and all Bart LG3000. This has got me wondering... I gotta sell my MTD!
