I have two of these and I need a little strange. Up for trade only is my 1996 50th Anniversary MIA Fender Jazz Deluxe 5. The color is called crimsonburst, and it fades from a sparkle on the edges to a transparent in the middle. It's hard to photograph, but it's very cool in person. Recently had the frets leveled and dressed. Action is lower than Fender specs. I also had the mid pot replaced by my tech. Comes with OHSC in good condition. This bass is 13 years old, so it has some player wear and swirling. The only ding through the finish is pictured.

These are the specs on this bass that I received from Fender via email yesterday:

    Date: 10/1/1996
    Model Name: Jazz Bass(r) Deluxe V (5-String)
    Model Number: 019-4500-(Color #)
    Series: U.S. Plus/Deluxe Series
    Body: Alder w/Ash Veneered Top/Back
    Neck: Graphite Reinforced Maple
    Fingerboard: Pao Ferro (9.5"Radius)
No. of Frets: 22 American Standard
    Scale Length: 34" (864 mm)
    Width @ Nut: 1.875" (47.6 mm)
    Hardware: Chrome
    Machine Heads: American Deluxe
Bridge: Deluxe V (Strings-Thru-Body and Top Load)
    Pickguard: White Pearloid
Pickups: New Design Jazz Bass V Humbucking Pickups (Neck & Bridge)
    Pickup Switching: Pan Pot
    Controls: Master Volume,
    Treble Boost/Cut 22db,
    Mid Boost/Cut 20db,
    Bass Boost/Cut 20db
Colors: (828) Crimson Burst, (Polyurethane Finish)
    Unique Features:
    Source: CORONA (US)
    U.S. MSRP: $1,299.99
    INTRODUCED: 1995
    DISCONTINUED: 7/1998

To the original, I've added the following:
    -Dunlop Dual Design Straplocks
    -Sadowsky Bright Nickel roundwounds

Trades: I'm looking for any 4 or 5 string of equal or slightly higher value. I might be willing to throw a couple hundred in for the right trade. Let me know what you have.

I will ship via UPS ground insured and will expect the trader to do the same. No international and no zero feedback, please.

    Bump.

Again, I'm looking for any 4-5 string trades of comparable and I'm willing to throw a couple of hundred in if neccessary to trade up. Among others, I'd consider the following manufacturers:

    • Fender- MIJ, CIJ or MIA preferred
    • G&L- no tributes, please.
    • Musicman Stingray
    • Warwick (maybe)
    • Yamaha
    • Lakland Skyline
    • ???? I'll give anything some consideration.

Please see the original post. I contacted Fender customer service, and they gave me the exact specs for this bass, including the manufacturer date.

I know people constantly complain about Fender CS, but I've never had a bad experience. They responded to my request for information in less than 24 hours, even though my request had nothing to do with a warranty claim or a new sale. Pretty good, if you ask me.

  5. Any interest in a Bongo HH 5 string?

Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of the Bongos. A Stingray 5, however, would get my attention.........:D

See if you have any interest in this:

Custom Jazz bass. Now this is unique in a few ways. First is has a J-retro preamp that also has a piezo control on it. Last I talked to John, it’s the only one out there like it. Standard J-retro control with a blend and piezo control and a master control. ABM piezo bridge.
Hipshot Ultralites. Allparts block and bound maple neck with era correct Fender J decal.
Warmoth swamp ash body with AAA walnut top. Bartolini pups. Gig bag. EC
