Fuzz: Mooer Fog or [SFX] Micro Fuzz?

I'm looking at the Mooer Fog and [SFX] Micro Fuzz for a fuzz option with a small footprint.

Prymaxe's Youtube demo of the Fog is really good, but I'm wondering if the [SFX] is worth the extra money (almost double the money!).

Anyone have experience with them, or have any other options for a small footprint fuzz?

I'm after a tight responsive fuzz, I've been able to get that sort of sound out of the Mammoth, maybe because of the gate, not sure, but I can't find any Mammoths or clones in a small box.

Prymaxe know how to make most things sound good on demo.

I've not used either of those you mentioned, as I'm not really into the fuzz end of dirt, but I have the Mooer Thunderball which has a Fuzz/Distortion switch. It's a good pedal - you can get a wide range of sounds out of it from from light drive to fuzz. I have it mainly on distortion and low-end retention is good.

but if sfx had still made their Black Dragon (dist) I'd have gone for that, just on how good their Red Dragon and B3 are.

I don't have the Micro-Fuzz but based on everything else that I know and have heard from SFX, I would go for the Micro-Fuzz.

I plan to build a nano-board and the Micro-fuzz and the Red Dragon will be key to it.

In also do not have experience with the Micro Fuzz but I own two MicroThumpinators, a MicroEQ, and the Micro Red Dragon MK II. I love all those pedals. Max is a great guy! My vote would be for the MicroFuzz. As expensive as his pedals are, they are top notch. Extremely well built, extremely low noise. Top quality components. He also makes stuff small by engineering it well and building it well. No shortcuts.

I have the Red Dragon and the Micro Fuzz. The Dragon is very responsive to touch when set properly. I really like it. The Fuzz is full and punchy. It can get silly thick, or give a nice fat sound and keep the fundamental. I agree about Max - an excellent guy to deal with.

Just for the record - I ordered a micro-thumpinator today and sent Max an email asking when he expected to ship as I needed to know for customs reasons. He responded within 10 minutes. Try getting that from mooer.

I have a Mooer Fog - build quality was rubbbish, added noise to my signal chain and I wasn't that impressed with the tone - I don't think it's actually that close to a Mammoth which is what it is supposedly based on. Will get rid of it when i get round to it.

Agree with MikroKev that Prymaxe are masters of making things sound good in their demo's. I went for the Mooer Fog and the Bass Sweeper after watching their youtunbe demo's and was disappointed with both.

micro fuzz is a really excellent pedal - beautifully suited to bass, full, rich fuzz. I had no intention of getting one but tried a Fog along with other Mooer pedals. The test didn't change my mind. No comparison.
