Yea, good point.

For the most part, I think her pedals excel at doing "extreme."

If you mess around with something like the Ruiner, Torn's Peaker, Shoegazer, etc. ... you can get some really rude, impolite, sometimes offensive and extreme sounds ... like chainsaws and Harleys, which is the kind of thing that Spider clip conjures.

Thanks everyone! There's just something so brutal about that clip that I posted, I can't seem to find such a nasty sound on any clips of other pedals that I look at (yes, I'm fully aware of how ridiculous it is to base a purchase off of youtoob clips, but it's all I got right now!).

No, not silly at all. Sometimes, is the resulting sounds from a YouTube that clinches a purchase, especially when it comes to these boutique pedals that you won't find sitting on the shelf at Guitar Center.

Could the Swollen PIckle MkII get this sort of dual scoop/mid push thing going with it's "scoop" control, or is it a different beast entirely? Once again, I'm sorry for being so uninformed on the effects end, up until now I've been a P style bass into an SVT kinda guy...but I'm looking to branch out.

I think your GAS List has a possible obsenity in it(or what could be construed as). Either way, in my experience, i find guitar pedals are a damn-site cheaper than bass pedals, i use a few in my setup, i have tried a few bass pedals but i haven't noticed much difference in effects other than the sound is easier to manipulate but that can be down to how much you use the pedal,try guitar pedals out and see what you think.

I had to turn my highs down a bit when using it in the scooped mode. It has a larger bass presence in that mode than you get from the demos. I didn't like it on the drive channel of my amp (Peavey VB-2); it's like the bass just drops out and gets replaced by sizzle. Into the clean channel, wherever you set the amp gain, it's all good. The demos don't really do it justice, IMO. This is the best one:

But it still doesn't quite replicate it. However, this is the demo that sold me on it, so...

I'm sure the Meat Smoke will make anything sound incredible.

I don't know how well it fares in a band mix alone, but it sounds absolutely GLORIOUS into overdrive or low gain fuzz, or whatever. Same with OD pushing it. The scooped mode, I mean. I assume the mid-boost has no problem -- it's definitely a mid boost.

I actually ran it with light fuzz - Big Spider - OD for a while. It was huge and ripping, makes you feel it in your chest in a way that I haven't gotten out of other pedals. I sold mine to someone with a big need for it, but will be getting it back soon...the wait is killing me!

so interested in one of these!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my fuzz factory is really super incredible. It has a bit too much gain for my GK amp but man, it sounds good. and covers a lot of tones imo. probably easier to get than this, although the low end isnt really there it being a guitar pedal. Granted that works out for me in most cases. Just another hat in the ring.
