G&L JB-2, USA. All original. This is an Artist bass from the early 2000s. 1.5" neck (of course!). Beautiful quilt maple top, natural binding. Rosewood board. Cherryburst finish. Neck is straight. No mods. Fully functional. This bass sounds and plays beautifully. Weight is exactly 9lbs on my bathroom scale.
I've seen some G&L quilted basses that are less than impressive in person. This isn't one of them.
Full Disclosure: There is a pencil point sized blemish on the binding. I tried to photograph it. It's not easy to see or photograph. I tried to circle it so there's a bit of a dark circle in the pic.
The other is a nick that was repaired on the back. It's smaller than the size of a quarter. I put the light on the repair so you can see it. I basically made it look as bad as possible. Both of these things can't be seen in the front while playing, it looks basically new.
If you wanted to get this bass new now, it would mean going through Custom Shop, which costs a fortune. And those tops are an added $500. Natural binding adds money too. This combination would be over $4000. Completely crazy, I know.
It's my nicest looking bass, one of the best sounding too. I'm just totally enthralled with MFDs, so it doesn't go out much. Someone else is going to love this bass and cherish it.
Will come in a G&L case that shows some wear but is fully functional. No trades unless it's the right lightweight Kiloton. Questions and offers in PMs, please. $1000 plus shipping, PP F&F.
