G&L Kiloton-what's under the hood?

Just curious what's under the pickguard of a Kiloton...is there a channeled route? I love those basses but I have no use for giant toilet seat pickguards ..anyone got a pic?

This is fantastic, thanks @dedpool1052! I've been looking all over for a naked Kiloton picture. I've got one being built right now and it would be a shame to keep most of the finish covered. Time to formulate a clear pickguard plan.
You're welcome!

I figured, hey, I've got a Kilo and a screwdriver, let's peak under the hood.

Hey fellas, I'm a proud one-week owner of a kiloton. Nice naked pic of this beauty, btw.
I was wondering about changing the color of the pickguard on mine by using some vinyl wrap and a hotair gun. Have you guys done it before or seen any?

I also noticed the unfinished touch on the maple neck, so sleek, different from any other bass I've had the chance to play with. What do you guys recommend to keep the neck nice and clean without applying any extra layer?

The neck is not unfinished, it has a satin finish and should be fine as is.

Fast forward a couple of months and my K5 is now sporting a clear pickguard. I'm on the fence about the uninhibited view into the control cavity. I do have a plan in case it really starts to bug me. But for right now, the sexy SB-2 body shape all naked looks fantastic. If I could only get a white pickup cover…

Now thats what Im talkin bout!! Thats kick arse!! That little bit of control cavity isnt even noticeable against that sparkle!

Good ideas! The only thing that really bothers me is the beige PCB on the pots. I was thinking I could keep it simple and just put some black vinyl over the beige. Or just do black vinyl on the back of the guard the shape of the cavity. We'll see! I do have to say this bass is spectacular in every way. I caught a short video from our last gig and it sounds exactly like the tone in my head. Outstanding!

? It's not an ernie ball. It's a P bass with a "stupid hot" humbucker in it.

The neck is finished. You don't need to do anything to it except hit it with some 0000 steel wool as a final sand for smoothness.

I had mine for two weeks. I gave it back because there is no way to get a clean tone from that pickup.
