I've owned both. Still have the Sabre, they only look similar, but underneath they're very different.
Alnico (MM) vs ceramic (G&L) pickups, and a hotter sizzly preamp in the G&L.
To me the Sabre is a much warmer, and fatter sound. The G&L is a rather in your face/ballsier-mids sound, comparitively. Also *to me* the Sabre has a more tighter-focused slap & pop sound.
