I did order the G&L jb2 in sonic blue but it's back ordered and I'm getting nothing from the distributor or g&l on when itll be in. […] In the mean time I'll test drive the road worn Fender. I'm going to try and rent one from the music store for band practice this weekend. If it wins me over I'll choose it, if not I'll keep the g&l order

Hi, do you have any update on that? How was the JB2 tribute in sonic blue? Compared to the road worn?
I'm bringing this up as I've been quite interested lately on the JB and JB2... I don't know why, but the JB2 in sonic blue seems to be heavily discounted compared to the other models here. Never tried either, anyway, so I'd like to hear your feedback.

The fact that the pickups/routings seem to be the same size and are not following Fender's standard sizes for neck/bridge is NOT a plus at all for me, by the way.

Is the "normal" JB (tribute) compliant with the classic jazz sizes, pickup-wise?

Also, anyone has any opinion on the JB vs the current Squier CV 60s?
There's a video on YouTube by Andertons, where Nathan King (Mark's brother) compares them. As far as I understood, the bottom line is that the JB has louder output and a bit more edge, and is slightly heavier, while the CV was truer to the original with a mellower and quieter tone. Being it a vendor's video however, they didn't rank them, just gave some feedback.

Dammnn that's a nice bass! I dont mind the G&l headstock shape. Its grown on me and now when I see one I instantly think g&l lol that's the idea right?

If anyone has photos of their Fender road worn or G&l jb2s post them up!
I gotta go back on my word about the headstock, I can deal with it on this tribute, damn this bass is nice!!
