Does the SB2 come without a pickguard, and does it come in a active model? :confused:

I would like to hear from a few other SB2 owners and get your opinions on the bass.

I love the PJ configuration my Fender has, and I can only imagine that the G&L would be that much sweeter.

I'm thinking I may trade my L2000 for one, but I'm not sure. So far my local dealers haven't had one in, and I want to play one rather than buy online without first having my grubby fingers on it. :bassist:

Just the opposite. I've had multiple L2Ks, but the SB-2 remains. I guess I like the simplicity. Not to mention that the passive SB-2 MFDs blow away most of my active basses. Of course, I'm talking US SB-2. Don't know about the imports.

The SB2 and L2K's are very different animals.....and I don't know which one I would keep if I could only have one. I currently have two L2K's and three SB2's (don't ask, it's a sickness....and that's not mentioning all my other G&L's!). I'm finding I use the L2K more for my female fronted "easy-listening" band, and church gigs. And whereas I used to play it in active mode all the time, nowdays it's pretty much in passive mode.
For my classic rock band, it's always SB2's (or an SB1)!! What a growl, there's no comparison between a PJ Fender & an SB2.
