Galleon-Kruger Cx-410 horn replacement

Hey Everyone,

seeing if anyone has come a crossed this issue... my horn is buzzing with the volume and treble all the way up and was wondering if need to replace the piezo horn or if I had to take out the horn within the cab. I didn't see the typical diaphragm within the small piezo horn in front and was wondering if it was the same diaphragm to be replace behind the piezo or if I should replace the piezo altogether.

I'll be playing with a sans amp and i believe the horn will help with the highs In This respect. Do you think the speakers can handle this if I turn the horn off in the back of the cab?

I don't think you can buy diaphragms for GK tweeters, but you can buy replacement tweeters:

Thomann stocks the same parts in Europe.

I found an image that is supposed to be a CX410 with the grill off.

Looks like the piezo tweeter. I suggest pulling your tweeter to confirm the part number.

Then again, this pages confirms the MB combos and CX series use the same tweeter: Piezo Horn — Gallien-Krueger so you should be good to go.

Are you sure the tweeter is fried? Could it be distortion from the amp? Or perhaps you are simply overdriving the tweeter--you said, "my horn is buzzing with the volume and treble all the way up" The tweeter is probably rated for 25W or less. So you may be over driving it to the point of distortion.


I would hate to see you order a new tweeter and not get any improvement.
