Gallien-Krueger 112MBX stand alone?

I am looking for a small stand alone cab for low-ish volume solo practice at home. I want a cab rather than combo so I can swap heads and preamps at will for reference. Has anybody used this cab in this application and if so are you satisfied with the results? It is cheaper than any 1x10 cab I could find new and has a coaxial speaker to help with the highs.

The GK 112MBX can produce a surprising amount of sound for such a small box, and can handle considerably more power than its nominal 100 watt rating. You won't get much in the way of high end however if that's what you're looking for. It has a very old school, warm kind of sound. In the same general size and weight (~16 lbs.) range, you could get a Euphonic Audio Wizzy 10 or a Schroeder Mini 10+L, both of which will have more highs. The Wizzy 10 and the Mini 10+L also have higher sensitivity ratings (more volume for a given amount of amp power) than the 112MBX. Both of these cabs turn up used here occasionally.

I have one and two MB150S combos, (recently scored the second one for super low $349 at Guitar Center West Hollywood on a new closeout with a $100 coupon).

I have the extension cab, second owner, bought several years ago to pair with the older MB150S.
I like the little cab for its light weight, portability and sturdy aluminum construction. It adds a little to the combo, but not enough that I take it out much.
Where I have enjoyed it is just as you describe: as an easy to live with practice and casual gig cab for switching heads.
I would rate the sound as mid-toned and mid fi, but it's the ease that makes it a nice piece to have around. Lightweight and portable is an understatement.
I was using it with an Ampeg portabass 250 head and it was a nice portable practice rig, a clever two-hand load in (gig back on back, cables in gig bag, GK in left hand and Ampeg in right).
I also used it as a jazz guitar cab, with the Ampeg. Tight jazz guitar voicing, clean.
Overall the cab is a good second item and very useful, flexible. Tone is average.
