Gallien Krueger Club. GK Rules !

I just got a 700rb ll it will be sent out monday!!!!! i am happy to get one. I remember using a backline many times with a rb 800 and a hartke 210 and 1-15 under it. My rig then was a svt and 810 cab but THE GK always sounded fine. The days of svt are over and have been using a eden wt 300 and SWR 15 CAB. THE EDEN HAS BEEN GIVING ME TROUBLE WITH BAD POTS. ITS IN SHOP NOW AND I WILL BE USING THE GK RB700. I WILL KEEP BOTH I AM SURE. I TRIED A GK 400 RB COMBO WITH 210'S IN PAWN SHOP AROUND HERE AND REALLY LIKED THE SOUND. THE AMP REALLY MOVED THE SPEAKERS, VERY RESPONSIVE. I WILL TAKE A PICK AND JOIN THE CLUB WHEN IT GETS HERE. IT LOOKS LIKE MOST OF THE CATS HERE USE GK!!!!! WOW!!!!

Hi,
this is a pic of my GK Rig...

MB500 head and 212MBE II/4

Bye

I was looking for a rack case to put the 700 rb in. It is two rack space right? and the cooling fan is on top so do i need to get a least a three rack space rack bag for cooling? I like the idea of the rack bag.( soft with straps) I just dont know about the cooling system on the 700 RB. I had a svt 3 in a 2 rack space bag, fan was on side and pushed air out back. I like to put all my amps in a case. I hacd that svt for 10 years and it looked new when i took it out of the rack to sell it!! sweet right.

The fans in the RB series are also variable speed. I only heard and felt the fan in my Fusion 550 once. Unknowingly hooked up a 2.67 ohm load (my son was supposed to have bought an 8 ohm driver and bought a 4 ohm without telling (warning) me. No damage to the 550 but man that fan was singing. I can feel a warm breeze out the front sometimes but not fan noise (they are also off until needed).

Well it got here today. the only problem is the input clip light doesn't work. No biggie i guess I can hear the clipping.

You can clip post input stage, that does not clip the input gain stage. That clip light is only affected by the input level and the pad switch. It warns you are about to clip the input stage and a really hot passive or hot active bass is needed to set it off (or excessively hot pedals).

It is a used head. I will ask the guy i got it from. it is not a biggy with the gain half way it has no clipping. On my eden head you play hard and turn the input gain up till the clip light comes on then turn it down a bit. in the GK Manuel it tells you to turn the master up half way then turn input to your desired loudness. whatever it seems to work fine. Its only rock in role but I LIKE IT!!!!

without the pad on and the input full with a passive p, it is full bore clipping with no light. it almost sounds like the bass on
Big Data - "Dangerous".

If you're running the input at 100%, then you're not clipping the input, you're overdriving the amp.
