That is a carvin rack. I read his post when he made this and did the same for mine. Cheap and easy and gets tons of compliments

How old is the amp? Does it get hot quicker and the fan turn on sooner due to the rack?

The rack is custom for this particular amp's design. It has a top vent that lines up with the top vent on the amp. So air is drawn in though the front of the amp and hot air is forced out through the top of the amp and through the vent in the case. It never gets hot!

The amp is 1 year old.
