Double Bass Gamut Red Diamond - Maintenence?

Love these strings. But what do I do to take care of them?? Rubbing alcohol probably a big no due to the gut core, so should I still use oil like on plain gut? something else? Top two are nylon wrapped, bottom two are copper. Let me know what you've had success with!

I've noticed they have gone a bit darker sounding since breaking them in, which is nice since they were so active out of the package, but I kind of want to try and bring some life back.

I wouldn't recommend doing anything to wound gut.

I've had the G and D on my bass for years without doing any maintenance. They've held up.

I agree that less is better. If the strings need cleaning, a cloth dampened (but not wet) with plain water, followed by a dry cloth, should do the trick.
