Gauge for slapping

Personally, for slapping I prefer DR Hi-Beams .40,.60,.80,.100

They've got fairly low tension which I really like for doing pops. I think fast stuff, like double and triple pops, is a lot harder on thicker strings. As mentioned before, the sound changes quite a bit with heavier strings. Personally, I prefer the sound of the lighter ones. I always find it amazing how my thumb just seems to bounce off of DR Hi-Beams.
