i play a bit to hard myself quite often ...
i'll make several setup adjustments with a particular set of strings , nut , relief , saddle height ... until i can get a variety of sounds/attacks from varying how hard i play and the angle of attack ... wanna play hard/fast/kinda clean = gotta pluck much closer to the bridge ..
strings ... finding the right sound and feel takes a while ... i agree that GHS pressurewounds might be a good fit ..!?
used them for the last decade ...
now trying Ti flats and Rounds ... very flexible , unique sound ... still getting used to the feel of them , and working on setup , including adjusting pickup heights
and maybe some EQ adjustments ..? finding the right notch to remove some of the clank freqs ..! making it less annoying for all ..
gotta go at it from a few angles
