I was up late watching TV one night and one of those '70s hits comp CD infomercials was on. Peter Frampton was playing a CAR Strat w/ tortoise pickguard, and I've been wanting a deep metallic red guitar or bass with that same look ever since.

Gave my 2011 Candy Cola a vintage touch...

A while back, I almost snagged a Candy Cola/rosewood Jazz at an insane price; but after I ordered it, they cancelled the order because the price they had listed was a "mistake". But had I actually gotten it, I had a tort guard sitting here just waiting to be slapped onto it! I love that look...
Yeah, its is a kandy tangerine Setzer Hot Rod...
As you can see in the background I used to have pinstripes on the purple bass but my arm was making them all yucky yellow and it started coming off. I removed them and planned to have some more put back on but now I am thinking they were overkill on the purple with the gold. I will never remove them from the Gretsch though...
As you can see, the P bass matches both my cars being purple and gold...
My next ride will be candy red...maybe something close to candy cola or actual candy cola...
I don't know about elsewhere, but in the UK at least I'm pretty sure that's illegal.
I was in the same boat with him, and somehow some internet forum people were pissed at us.

white pearloid with any dark red looks awesome..
I don't think the tortoise would give the same vibe with the maple neck. White with maple and CC looks good, but pearloid has me now thinking....

Yeah, I tried tort with my maple Candy Cola P5, and it didn't look quite right. My fiancee even asked me to change it back to the white.
