GC Shipping Prices on Cabs

Their web site seems screwed up now. They've been rolling out changes over the past few months - search changes, switch to single-page application, etc. - and now their shipping is weird. I usually have all my stuff shipped to my local GC instead of my house. I just tested with a cab and that wasn't even an option. Something seems broken.

ETA - I just tested with a bass instead of a cab and all the regular shipping options worked. I could ship to my house or local store and prices were normal. Maybe they were taking a beating on shipping costs for oversized stuff and they changed their options as a result.

Call your GC gear advisor, number should be listed on the used site. they can often get you free shipping.

Correct. As much s**t as GC and MF get, if you're cool with them, and sharp, they can get you great deals. Not to mention, they have THE best return policies in the biz.

I noticed this as well. $230 to ship any used cabinet to my home. It's a shame too, they have a nice Genz Benz Uber 2x10 I'd like to complete my collection but not for that price.

Weird. I've bought at least a dozen used amps and cans from GC over the years. A few in the past year. Never paid more than around $25-40 for shipping to my house.

That's been my experience as well. Kinda glad I'm done shopping for cabs (for now, anyway...)

I was looking at a NEO 4x10 last night. Shipping was $350. Just looked at a NEO 1x12. Shipping on that one is $230

Both cabs came up with a note: Ovesized Shipping Requirements.

Yep, I noticed this recently as well. All cabs are over $200 for shipping. Tried about 20 different used cabs, same results regardless of cab size or destination

I've also noticed the change. I had a cab in my cart. Shipping was $40. Decided to buy a few days later. Order would not complete. Emptied cart, added item back and shipping jumped to $250.

Wonder if they would allow you to arrange the shipping? Using your pirate ship account, you could likely cut the cost in at least half.

I had been eyeballing some used cabs on GC. Last week, I swear the shipping from Cali to Idaho was $40. This week it is $250. Did I misread things last week or has there been a change in shipping rates?

I noticed the same thing. Last week I paid $37 to ship a GC used cab. This week it's $240 to ship a cab.

Ive been buying used GC stuff for the last few years. Shipping is most often $20 for anything. Basses. SVTs. The most I paid was $35 for a 100lb cab that came freight on a palette. Those days are probably over.

a year or two ago, GC shipped a Peavey 810 Pro from California to Iowa for $26. I was amazed! Couldn't NOT get it at that point.
