Geddy Lee Jazz Bass

Just purchased a USA made Geddy Lee jazz bass. I've been wanted to pull the trigger on a Geddy for a couple years now after reading mostly just great reviews on tone, construction, and such. At 8 lbs 14 oz, it's an ideal weight for me as well. Played it for a couple hours last night... absolutely love the smooth, fast neck, something I'm not used to with my P. Really looking forward to using it on a gig this weekend!

I got one last month.... I have had hundreds and hundreds of Jazz basses including several "booteek" name brand J's. This one is hands down the best I have had. It is to me the perfect jazz bass. The feel, playability and tone are all on point. The only thing that sucks is that they come new with awful Fender strings and a crappy setup. So when you try one new in the store you have no idea of what it can do.

Mine was set up professionally before I received it, so it plays beautifully. Strings are rounds, so will do for now. I owned a '73 some years back, but I prefer this Jazz; its lighter weight certainly makes it that much more enjoyable for me to play.

I haven't had hundreds of jazz basses, but I have had quite a few. A Japanese Geddy Lee and a Sadowsky Metro RV4 were the best I have owned. If I decided to go 4 string again, I'd probably get a US Geddy.
