Geezer Butler's crazy ambient effects?

thanks for the answers! i listened to some pedal review, and i think that this sound, the "sub-flange a-la Geezer" sound cound be reached with an MXR 117 or a EHX Deluxe electric Mistress.
The thing is that those pedals are really TOO expensive here in Argentina... the Boss flange it's good but i didn't hear a demo with the deepness of the sound i'm looking for...

Wow, where can mod info be found for sounds similar to the first clip? I have an old non working DOD Flanger lying around [ 2 knob version ] and i'd love to mess with it.

My only gripe about the Boss Flangers is that even on the wildest settings, they always sound pretty tame to me. The Geezer flanger sounds a lot more like my Electric Mistress. That one has an obscene amount of resonance available. Mine runs on AC, so I don't use it much. The BF2 has served me well for most of my flanging needs. The HF2 doesn't work too well, even though it's supposed to take the signal, shift it up an octave, flange it, and mix it with the dry signal (or something like that).

The Parapedal clips make it sound a lot like the wahs that DOD was making 20 years ago. They had a really big synth-esque sweep that I could never make useful. Does anyone remember those?

I've been looking for a use for this dead crybaby that I have sitting around--that DIY stuff might be an interesting way to spend some money.

It would not at all surprise me if the Electric Mistress can get wilder that the BF-2, because all the EHX pedals Ive had were capable of sounds that were way out of the ordinary, but you really find the BF2 tame? Maybe someone played with the trimpots or something in the 20years or so my BF-2 has been around; with the resonance all the way up it self oscillates, and when oscillating and slowly changing the depth and manual, it can do some of the spaceship stuff shown in those DOD videos. Does yours function the same way when the resonance is dimed?

I have a BF-2 and I find it very tame. Its very transparent, letting your bass tone come through, but even with depth and res on max, its still a very mild effect, nice if you want something subtle, but you have to put in some big distortion in front of it to get anything with some OOMPH to it. I'm thinking of selling it and getting a Stereo Electric Mistress.

My BF2 doesn't self-oscillate. It sounds like it's getting close sometimes, but never does. I've never messed with the trim pots, because I use it for the subtle effects that it's good at. I usually break things if I start messing around with trim pots. Maybe some day I'll get brave.
