Generic solo bass bridge vs hipshot triple lock

I'm getting a fanned fret body made for me and trying to pick bridges. I love hipshot hardware but is their triple lock bridge that different from a generic single bridge like the links below? I do not want a string through but am interested in more flexible height adjustments. I have a bass that has a off brand that looks like the triple shot and it's fine but I'd like to hear feedback for those that have used the hipshot or both.

Open to other suggestions on solo bridges too. I like the babicz solos but I don't think they're that worth it to me for how expensive they are.

Hipshot Solos are made of 100% Stainless Steel. The no-name are probably zinc (a.k.a. pot metal).

I would suggest considering the difference in cost between the two relative to the overall cost of the bass.
I'm guessing that it's a very small percentage, and not worth "skimping" to save a few bucks in the grand scheme of your custom instrument.
As a woodworker/luthier, a good friend said this to me when I was considering a top-of-the-line plane vs a more moderately priced one:
"Have you ever once said to yourself 'I wish I would have bought the less expensive tool.'"?
I think you're likely to regret not going for the Hipshot far more than you're going to regret a few tens of dollars more.

It's like anything. If the offshore counterfeiter is capable of investing the time and skill to learn the functional specs instead of simply using the original as a male for the form then perhaps there's little difference.

Nova is based in Brazil, the proprietor is occasionally active on talkbass. They make a variety of hardtail and tuner bridges. Their current inventory fluctuates -- currently shows monorail and hardtail bridges for bass plus some guitar stuff. They also make monorail tuner bridges for bass though I don't see any listed right now.

I have a set of the Hipshots on a multiscale 5 string. When I finished the bass they were easy to adjust for the set up and I haven’t needed to touch them since. That’s all I got…

I would say for me it comes down to the metal used. I like brass over alluminum. I have had a Hipshot Kickass bridge that was excellent in tone, sustain and operation. My only complaint was they used a size hex (allen) wrench that was in between my US and Metrics and unfortunately lost the original that it came with so be sure and do not stupidly losing it as I did.

I have the Hipshot Triple Lock Downs on a 6 string multi that Martin Keith finished building for me a few weeks ago. At this risk of starting a flame war, in combination with the roasted swamp ash body and the hard ash neck they do contribute to a very responsive, lively instrument with amazing sustain.

The only others I considered were ABM's which claim to be machined from bell brass but Martin persuaded me to go with the Hipshots and I'm glad he did.

I haven't tried any others but I would stay far, far away from Asian imports of undetermined and unverifiable metallurgical content. The difference in price isn't worth the risk IMO.
