Genz service has just converted me

Thought I'd chime in..
my Shuttle 6 seemed to be giving me problems at 3 out of the only 4 gigs I used it.. Sent email w/complaint to GB and Jeff sent me his # in an immediate email reply. Gave me setting suggestions and discussed some possible problems it could be. After another non-satisfactory gig, I called again and was requested to send to GB for troubleshooting. It should be at the factory today or tom. so I anxiously await the results.

With so many times of conking out on me, I'm a bit leery of its reliability.. When it works, I absolutely love it.. but having it do so in a consistant manner has been a bit of a chore. Will await results of testing, but I won't be happy until I can make it through some gigs w/o it shutting down on me.

But the customer service has been outstanding! And I tell all my music friends about the service, too.. Now, if the amp will only work...

I've never read anything bad about Jeff Genzler or Genz-Benz support. I know when I was narrowing down my amp decision, I sent a message to Genz-Benz customer support with several questions and Jeff returned the email with all questions answered. And, get this...I sent it on a Sunday and he responded the SAME DAY! Obviously, he understands the value of customer relations. BTW, I ended up buying the ShuttleMax 12 and could not be happier with the amp.

Another good guy to deal with is Dave at Avatar. I've been very happy with his responsiveness and product, as well.

Re - the detailed message about email earlier - the problem with using AOL for email is that you may get INCOMING mail, but your OUTGOING mail will bounce like crazy. AOL gets on everyone's blacklist on a regular basis and servers all over the world reject emails with aol.com as the suffix.

And my Shuttle 6.0 has never missed a beat...not to mention that I bought it as a demo after Jeff did a local workshop in Fort Collins...got a nice discount!

I hear nothing but good things about Genz Benz customer service. Fortunately, I have had no need to find out about it 1st hand. (proud Uber 212 [DEL]ab[/DEL]user)

now that's just funny right there! Subtle and sweet with the line through the ab!
No kiddin, on any money decision for amps I am gonna buy Genz cause they rarely need anything fixed and if needed your service will be prompt. in my experience and IMHO Shuttlemax12 and 9.0 owner. I recently bought a cheap back up amp to leave in my car at the gig, or if playing at the "bucket O' Blood" bar might use cause I don't want to risk the G-Benz, but front and center amp head of choice shuttlemax cause they sound great and you can call tomorrow and Jeff himself might help you and if you post here tomorrow, company reps will answer your concerns. unmatched IMHO

Excellent point! Hotmail is getting the evil eye also. Unless you are on dialup still, WHY would you use a portal (AOL)?

Are you in the U.S.- if so and if you'd like, you can PM me ...and I'll send out a new unit today....you'll have it by Thursday. If we find a Twinkie in the one you sent in for service though.....that is causing the problem, I get to keep the Twinkie. :-)

I want you to have confidence in your amp.

Not only do you get great service from Jeff and crew out in Scottsdale, you also get Roger out here in CT that will stand by the product as well.

The Genz Benz line of products are quality built and I absolutly love my Shuttle Max 12! I also got a pair of Uber cabs on the way to complete my GB setup. Roger has offered to come to his office to try them out too. How's that for service!

I am very happy with Genz Benz and everyone involved with making a great line of products for us Bass Players!!

Fixed it. :D

There are a lot of components in these amps and when you buy as much as GB has too, they can't test every capacitor, resister or diode so there is the possibility that a weak component makes it into an amp. That being said it says a lot about a company that will do what needs to be done to resolve an issue promptly.

As for reliability and taking a beating, my Shuttle 6.0 was accidentally plugged into a 4 ohm and a 8 ohm cabinet which brought the load below the 4 ohm rating. The guy at the venue swore the cabinet was 8 ohms and not 4. I gigged that amp for 3 hours in 98 degrees and about 70% humidity weather and it didn't miss a beat, no dropouts, no clipping and no overheating.

Thanks Men of GB... and no we don't want to see a calendar of you guys! :D
