Genz Uber 410

Hi all

I've seen a killer deal on one of these.

4 ohm model, and would nicely match up with my Streamliner 900 or Max 9.2.

Can anyone who has owned one for a while comment on the weight, how easy it is to move, and the tone?

I'm guessing this would be a nice (but fairly large) one cab solution.

With either of those heads I would be looking for an 8 Ohm version because you will be able to drive the cab to its limits regardless of impedance. You probably wont ever need more volume than the 410, but in case you do it might be nice to have the expandability.

I now see they only come in 4 Ohm... Just be careful with your volume. 900 watts should be able to toast the cab easily.

+1 to CL400Peav's advice. But I will say, the GB Uber cabs are awesome. Tight and punchy, yet still fat and old school flavored. Also loud, and easy to move with the built in handles and rear wheels. but, yes, an 8 ohm cab is a wiser choice.

I've tried to toast my Genz cabinets for years. They just keep getting louder...lol

You should be fine with a 4ohm. They are very lightweight and super easy to move around. Sound fantastic! If you are into the utlra low-end, Dub/Reggae tone then you may want to add a larger driver or different 4x10 with the uber.

I've had mine for about a year and a half. Great tone as described above, nice and punchy. The weight is around 70 lbs but I carry it everywhere because I don't like the tilt back casters, it always wants to go forward. There's 3 handles on the top so it's easy to grab. Best 410 I've ever used with my SVT-VR. Let us know if you pick it up!

Trust me I could toast those cabs... :D

You are wrong about adding different cabs though. Larger driver doesnt equate to more lows. Adding a different 410 is just going to introduce phasing problems.

Thanks. Ultimately what cabs should I use for the High powered Streamliner 900 and Max 9.2?!

The 410 is a perfect match for the Streamer 900! It's rated at 1000 watts, so unless your running the amp passed its limitations, you have nothing to fear.

Moreover, the 10s are a great match for the deep low-end of the Streamliner. Kind of tightens it up a bit and never gets boomy.

I was mainly hoping I could turn up the amps with no worries due to the higher spec speakers over most 'normal' 4x10s.

If that was an 8 Ohm cab, the 9.0 or 900 wouldnt be pushing enough power to hurt the cab unless you were doing something dumb like cranking the bass, cutting everything else and playing at super high levels. That 410 will get loud, really loud, but its not going to break the laws of physics. 900 watts is 900 watts.
