Genzler Bass Array 212-3

How many would be interested in a Genzler Bass Array 212-3?

So I couldn't find anything in the search about this so I started an account and I'll ask the question myself.

How many would be interested in a Genzler Bass Array 212-3?

I'm guessing the specs would be 700 watts, 4 ohm, 55lbs. I like the idea of just bringing one "it can do it all" cab to gigs of all sizes.

What ya'll think?

I would want the 12s to be vertically aligned, but it appears that in all the Genzler cabs the mid drivers cover the full vertical distance of each cabinet (hope that makes sense). So there would be quite a few mid drivers to cover the full vertical distance of the 212 cabinet. If that's feasible it would be great to have the possibility of a 212 to cover most gigs and a 212 plus 112 stack for the big outdoor events.

Bob

Yes, a BA212-3 please. This is exactly what I need. Vertical 12’s and be able to put a slant on top when needed. Side handles 40/60 c/g placement for perfect balance.

Get two of the 1x12s and put a ratchet strap around them this will make one box, or put both on a folding hand cart for a one trip carry in. Having two small boxes you can stack gives the flexibility to bring just one speaker for the places that a 2x12 is not needed or would scare people. (Yup,this is real having Band Leaders, Soundmen or Event Owners scared of the size of a cab before it is turned on. Small is good sometimes.)

How bout vertical 12s but have the array spilt in two on the sides. So 4 3" cones on each side. Like this:
O
l l
O

Don't know if that would break the dynamics of the whole system but it's another option.
That would break it designed function.

So maybe something like Invalid Link Removed but the 12"s squeezed together more to make it taller.
Go to the Genzler Club and you will see that most run the 2 12s set up, like this.

Thought about that but that's $1700-$1800 for 2 112-3. If there was a 212-3, I'm thinking it would be in the $1400 ballpark.

It’s usually more $$$ to buy multiple single cabinets to stack vs one double... And I do have two BA12-3s.

We're listening. Certainly it is more complicated when designing Bass Array cabs.
There is some thought of this configuration with a 6 x 3" Array centered in the cab.

Jeff, can it be a vertical 212 with an 8 x 3” configuration?
Are you suggesting a 6 x 3” because that assembly is already being used in the BA410-3? Or is it an ohm/balance issue?

Thanks for considering making it happen.

In this discussion and comparison of 2x12 cabs --- we do currently offer our Magellan-212T (below) as a more traditional/classic style cabinet design.

Certainly a BA2x12 design would stand in a separate class of cabinet. It is important that it is recognized and appreciated for its uniqueness and its differences. This discussion encompasses the performance of the BA concept and the price as well.

@bluescat this is all part of the decisions it takes in balancing the performance and the amount of drivers it takes to accomplish the balance of the woofers against the array. We did find that in the BA410-3 ---- a 6 x 3" array was a great blend with the force of the 4 x 10" drivers. An 8 x 3" array was over the top --- so to speak ---- and would have also impacted the price even more. This is the same discussion if a BA212-3 would ever make it into the line. And with that is the difference in the cost of drivers and eventual cost of the final product.

Just some additional food for thought from this side of the discussion.
