The Benson Germanium fuzz actually makes for a really nice bass germanium overdrive/boost because of the impedance knob. You can clean up how fuzzy and wooly it gets, and some of my favorite sounds I've gotten out of it are just boost sounds.
Germanium diodes to affect your EQ quite drastically. They are often mid focussed, so they often need a bit of EQ to bring back your bass' natural tone.
I was wondering about the fuzz on bass. I asked Chris Benson about it. He said he hadn't personally tried it, but that he heard good things. Any loss of low end?
The Parabellum is based on a tube driven parallel multi germanium circuit… it’s become a nearly always on pedal for one of my bands.

I design audio circuits for a living, and this statement baffles me.
I have this little TB-2W by Boss (matched germanium transistors) along with an Analogman Peppermint (unfortunately no the Dark version) on a board I use for both guitar and bass. The board also has the Lundahl transformer equipped Origin Effects Cali76 TX-L and the new Genzler 4 On The Floor OD. I feel very fortunate to own pedals like the Boss and the OE. The Boss was a very limited production run (3200 world wide) for them and the OE compressor is no longer made and getting expensive to buy in the used market (not as expensive as the one Fuzzbass has).

Prince of Tone? Amateur![]()
I hate (-ish) saying it but when I get mine I might see what Reverb brings. Protein is so close and so good it’s hard to not consider that since they are about a grand now. That’s just goofy.I’m new to all these pedals. It’ll be a few more years before my KoT is ready!

I have a good friend who has one and for the price, new, they’re worth the wait. I may pick up a second PoT to stack, in the meanwhile. I paid $350 for the Boss and the minute the salesman put it in my hand the value doubled. He said I should flip it but I really don’t buy gear to sell off later. I do like gear that appreciates over time, though.
Great pedal. I have used them I just don’t physically own it yet. And the new prices of Analog Man pedals are fine. But the insanity is because people don’t know want to wait. And it’s gotten up to about 4 years for a KoT now.I have a good friend who has one and for the price, new, they’re worth the wait. I may pick up a second PoT to stack, in the meanwhile. If you’re a K guy check out RYRA Klone.I had one, but never really liked it, TBH. Kept it for a year before selling it for $800 on Reverb. The Klon KTR was amazing, though.
