Getting a New Bass

Ok so I'm getting a new bass, I want one that has a warm woody feel and tone, (you know what I mean like not the Fender rasp) with actives and huge pick ups. I want real good action and the strings down low close to the pickups.

Any recommendations? lol

Hey man, don't bump your own thread, especially not after an hour, and especially not at 5 AM! haha

You need to narrow it down more if you want some recommendations. Low action and woody tone with active electronics... what do you mean by "huge pickups?" Like, hot? Or physically large (double-coils)?

What's your budget? # of strings? Scale length? What type of finishes do you like? String-spacing? The more info you give us, the better we can do for you.

Sounds like a hollowbody might be your ticket, based on what you said so far. I can't narrow it down any further without a budget.

OK cheers dude Ill narrow it down. Nah as far as pcikups are concerned not double coils like two big EMGs.
Just a four string and preferable 24 frest but I wouldn't mind a smaller neck if it compromised with sound. Finsh ... Something light colored, glossy ya no. And string spacing .. not to fussed..

And its mid-day in Ireland! :P
