im curious if anyone has any ideas on how to achieve a sound similar to George benson's guitar tone on the album Give Me The Night on a bass. I know a lot of the reason he sounds so pronounced is the way that he's picking but I think the tone would be great for soloing over stuff. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Err... use a semi acoustic guit@r with flat wounds on it?
Failing that, a bass with flats on it and playing past the 12th fret always playing in octaves a la Wes Montgomery?

What you will need is a pitch shifter, amp modeler, eq and reverb. I get that tone using my Zoom MS60 or B3.
