GHS pressure wound versus DR high beams.

Hey everyone, I have a bass on the way with DR high beams set 45 to 105. I’m determined to give them a chance but I suspect I’m going to think they are too floppy. I understand the pressure wound hex core strings will feel tighter. The only gauge available is 40 to 96 for short scale. I’m wondering if anyone has any thoughts or has played both sets? Since the pressure wound are a lighter gauge will it be similar tension to the higher gauge DR?

Hi Beams 45-105 vs. Pressurewound 40-96... They're close in terms of overall stiffness/flexibility despite the difference in gauges, at least on a long scale. In terms of tonal quality, they're miles apart.

I do use the PW 40-96 on my 34" scale basses and find them "comfy but not floppy".
