GHS strings on my L2500

I've been looking for a set of strings for my new L2500 Tribute. I just put a set of ProSteels on and WOW! This thing is a monster. I can't put it down. I can't wait to gig with it this weekend.

That's a Trib? Did they change the logo/decal thingy on them? I had a Trib before my US and it was all black, and said "Tribute" pretty big.

Nice looking bass. Mine is black/maple and while I like how stealth it looks, I really wish I had blueburst like yours or redburst . . .:(

Thanks. I believe they have changed the decal. I think the earlier Tribs also had Tribute stamped on the bridge. A G&L expert will have to confirm that. I still can't believe you can pick these up for under $600.

Chris...

TI SA's on the L2500/2000..... to my ear anything else just sounds too compressed up high, and too boomy down low. The SA's seem to tame that. However, I must say, I'm constantly at odds with my L2000, and really have a hard time making this bass work for me.... too critical perhaps?..... I guess I'm just not a double coil pup kinda guy.

Sorry, I hadn't re-visitied this thread. I use the Super Alloy's in 'Long Scale'. I believe that is the standard for TI, 34" scale, string through or not.

Frankly, when I buy, the guy who is my string supplier - I just email him, tell him what bass I'm re-stringing and how, which string and I let him pick the length. He's gone through the choices a zillion more times than I have after all...

For my P & J, top loaders it's obvious but the G&L, Lakland 5501 and Samick Royale aren't obvious at all. That is where having a decent relationship with an expert helps IMO ...
