We do have a 5 string set, where the B is a tapered .130. It sounds good compared to the other strings in that set; nice and even.

it should be a piece of cake to find something to try out, so if it's not working, we need to look at it and see what we can do to fix it (or at least try).

We Canucks definitely want to see a higher GHS presence in Canada. As discussed in another thread, Boomers are the only GHS product stocked in L&M stores - maybe the occasional Flea set being the exception.

I love your products, keep up the good work!!

To my ears, Big Cores are tighter, and more focused than Boomers, but still retain a bit of warmth. They're a good middle ground between Progressives (which are completely nickel-iron) and Boomers in terms of tone.

Because of the nickel-iron and stainless wraps, they're definitely a stiffer feeling string at the same gauges as Boomers. I would say they feel very much like our Progressives, which are stiff enough that you can get away with playing hard on lighter gauges.

This applies to most brands sold at L&M and, it seems, most other retailers in Canada. They only carry a subset of a given product line. As a result I only purchase from BSO.

From what I've been able to gather, L & M will special order GHS Progressives, flats, tapewounds, etc. when asked. This hasn't always been the case as I once unsuccessfully tried to order GHS tapewounds.

I have a 1 gallon can that I soak my round wounds in for 2-5 days.(use a paperclip through the ball ends). Let them hang dry for an hour or so, and they come back to life. I formerly use to boil strings, but the heat kills the temper of flexible metal. I use double ball strings, so there's an ease for me, no peg wrapping.
