Gibson 5 string EB bass

I'm wondering about neck dive myself - I did notice that there is some extra body mass past the bridge which could certainly offset some of the headstock weight. I'll have to try one out and see...

Yeah, it is on my shortlist of 5 strings now, trying one will probably make up my mind for sure though. I think they look sexy.

They have (at least) one in natural at the store where I bought my 4 string last weekend. Not being a 5 string guy I didn't pull it out of the case and look at it or play it. But I can certify to the fact they exist...

I talked to my Sweetwater sales rep and they went and measured one of the EB 5 strings for me - 1.75" nut width like a Music Man! Winner.

Gibson did not have either EB bass or any other basses at their Summer NAMM booth. Fail.

Definitely on my shortlist.

I'm also interested in hearing about the neck profile and the B. Babicz bridges are only made in 19mm, so unless they made a special one for the Gibson, 19mm is my guess.
