Gibson DC tribute bass (discontinued?)

I was under the impression that they stopped them in 2022. I picked one up in late February through GC used. Paid less than the (non-discounted) new price, but a little higher than I would have expected to pay used. I had some gift cards, so it didn’t big me too much. Anyway, the serial number dates it to January 2023 according to any Gibson serial number dating lookup I’ve found. So I’m not sure if that was one of the last, or if they’re just letting a few trickle out here and there, or what. But they are cool, fun basses.

I spoke with the Gibson rep in my area and he said that they were halting production for now. I was lucky and got one in Dec of 21 after waiting for 6 months. The rep said they never thought they’d be as popular as they are. Mine is flawless in every aspect. It only goes out of the house for special shows.

I'm really envious, Scottm !!
Having played 6str Gibson's all my life , your big and little brothers , would b my desert island pick.
Here (Australia), I haven't seen 1 single DC bass come up second hand. As of this morning, only 2 retailers are showing stock, and I don't believe they have them. Unfortunately, since "covid" drought of new gear, Ozzy retailers, infuriating will take payment for stock they DO NOT have...IV been caught 2 times.. Folks in the US don't realise how "spoilt for choice" , regarding variety , and discounted price of new, and, especially, second hand , instruments and sound gear.
Don't get me wrong, I count myself blessed to live here, can't have everything.

Man that’s rough, sorry to hear that!
If you were to find one on this forum used for sale, it would be worth the money if you could get the seller to ship it to you.

I have sold more than a few basses over the years to buys in other countries. I pray that you get as lucky.
