The mudbucker-style pickup that came with my reissue Rivoli is a lot weaker & microphonic than the Gibson version. I replaced it with a Dimarzio One. The One is a lot more versatile (more highs for instance) and usable than the Epi pickup.
the old Gibson mudbucker and the epi are not the same. the newer Sg bass from Gibson has a TB+ pickup under the chrome cover, so it's not the same as the older Gibson either. the Model One is a drop in replacement but it sounds different than the Gibson as well.
