Gibson Grabber/Ripper -influenced build.

Sorry for not updating the process. I'll be soon in the sanding-before-adding-PU phase and I promise to take photos then... Now I have finished the neck (just needs sanding) and just glued the lower body wing (the one with the electronics). So in a week I'll have the other one added and then I'll take lots of photos :)

Well, at the moment both my projects are on the halt as I don't have any extra time (have been for a while now...). The grabber is waiting to be sanded for polishing and I started winding the pickups, but those too are unfinished. I'll probably be able to continue with it in springtime...

Here are a couple of photos:

This is pretty sweet! Nice job.

I am going to do a Ripper shaped build myself. I play mostly 5 strings, so I wanted to make mine a 5. Then I got the bug to build an eight string, not quite ready for a 12 yet. Then I thought why not a 10 string. I've never seen it done before. I'd have to figure out what gauge string to pair with the B for the octave, but when ever I get around to doing my Ripper shaped bass, that's what it will be. I will use the Ripper shaped headstock and just stretch it a little. Should be plenty of room for 10 tuners.

Yeah, there should quite easily be space for those extra tuners, but keep in mind that the body shape, especially the upper horn, is probably not the best for extra weigh on the headstock...
