GIBSON LES PAUL OVERSIZED BASS

If I didn't already have a LP Doublecut $, I'd be giving some serious thought to getting one of the newer Les Paul basses. It's good to hear you like yours dopejohnpaul.
I might be a little biased to the pre 07' models because those were great years for me in general. The single life was good back then.
I'm not positive but I think the LPB3 always had TB+ pickups, just some had the added Bart TCT preamp. The first ones weren't chambered either like awilkie84's beautiful fiver up there

there

Thanks man! I used t own a $ Bass as well. It was a nice player, and sounded great. And they were pretty economical. After I bought and fixed up my Jag Bass, I had no need for it. I've been itching to get a more classic LP bass ever since I got rid of that one. I'll be using my Goldtop on the road this weekend for the first time, so I'm really excited. I definitely understand your nostalgia for time periods. I have a lot of gear laying around just for that reason.

That is exactly the type of pic I was looking for!
Thanks!
My concern was not so much for the sound-with two TB PUs it will growl- I don't want to play metal and blues with a bass that looks like it belongs in a mariachi band!

Has anyone who's actually owned one of these (of this, larger headstock generation) switched the standard Grover tuners for the like Hipshot's? {Not interested in non-first-hand advice on how it might work (or heavily 'researched' opinions on the switch in general). Nor am I interested in what you did to your older ones. Surely it's all very good information, but I don't care.}

I only want to know if anyone has done it--and if so, what was your experience.

Thank you.
