Gibson SG Shortscale......

I just got a 2013 SG Special, played it on a gig last night. I love the TB+ pickups in this thing, it can really get very close to a Jack Bruce type EB3 tone to my ears and also has a clarity that cuts through I can't get out of my Epi Elitist EB3. The SG Special is maybe not the most beautiful model IMO but it's got a really good sound. I like it alot.

I love mine!

Yeah, its an issue for me. Had a '68 EB-3 (back then---not now damn it) for a while and it bothered me. My buddy had one that had hardly any dive---never understood that. In any event, the SG body shape reeks coolness as does the guitar itself for sure. Saw Uriah Heep loooong time ago and Mick Box was just screaming on his SG.
PS: wish I still had my 3

yeah, a little. Doesn't really bother me, I just love this bass! I have 5 basses right now and this one probably gets played the least, but I don't think I will ever part with it.

I wouldn't either! You could say I learned my lesson about such things:bawl:. Also learned it with a 1969 and a 1971 Ric...:bawl::bawl:

I just acquired one a month ago, and I've started the mods.
Hipshot bridge currently being installed, this is a must for do for my ears. Most likely change P/U's then, I have 2 EMG HB's that I think will find a way into this bass. Then deal with the neck dive, via new tuners most likely.

To join the choir, I picked up a 2014 SG special a few weeks ago while I was waiting on something at GC. I've never liked any Gibson bass I have played and this bass sure changed my tune. I would definitely buy it over any Fender Mustang. I actually keep thinking about her...
