Gibson SBG-FWSSM Flatwound. I've looked everywhere online and can't find any info or opinions of these strings... Has anyone tried them? Can you tell me a little bit about them?

You're right about not much info being available on these strings around here.
Would you be daring enough to be the one to boldly go where no one has gone before and write a review on them?

I had a set or two a year ago and had them on a long scale bass.
They are a lot like Chromes--enough alike that I suspect D'Addario makes them to Gibson specs. Nice looking and sounding strings.

I was going to say the same thing.... I think they are D'Addario Chromes with Gibsons name on them.
That wouldn't surprise me, considering how many companies D'Addario makes strings for. Personally, though? I think I'll have to give the Gibsons a pass. 22 of my 24 basses wear flats already; and, with one exception, they wear the flats I really want them to wear - including all the ones that wear "real" short scale strings. The 2 that don't wear flats? They're also wearing what I want then to wear. The one bass that might get it's flats changed is a long scale - and it's wearing D'Addario Chromes. If I want to change them after this set dies, the new flats will be very different from Chromes. If I decide to stick with the sound I'm getting now? I have 2 sets of Chromes standing by in my Big Box O' Strings...
